The Must-Have Superpower: What It Is, Why It Matters, and How to Master It

I have a bit feisty spirit which sometimes caused me problems in my younger years. I was usually quiet but at times I could ‘go off’ in a second and snap back something I didn’t even mean to say.

Have you also ever found yourself snapping at the wrong person at the wrong time?

The good news is that these reactions are natural.

The bad news is — they can strain our relationships and take a toll on our mental well-being.

I don’t snap at people anymore as I have developed a superpower called self-regulation.

While that feistiness is still in me, I know how to control it, and 99% of the time I don’t react when triggered.

The calmness that comes from self-regulation has helped me improve my mental health, and my relationships with others, and I feel happier as well.

You can become the master of self-regulation as well.

What is Self-Regulation?

Self-regulation, often called emotional regulation, is the ability to manage our emotions, thoughts, and behaviors in various situations.

It’s about keeping calm under pressure, staying focused, and responding to challenges in a balanced way.
